ASRC MEMBER TEAMS.
The Mountaineer Area Rescue Group (MARG) is one of seven members of the Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference (ASRC), a community of wilderness SAR groups spanning Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. The Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference (ASRC) is a confederation of wilderness search and rescue organizations that provides professional volunteers trained in search management and field operations for missions in the mid-Atlantic region. Our missions include searching for and rescuing lost persons, primarily in the great outdoors. We also assist with other outdoor emergencies including technical rescues and other emergencies. Our group is composed of experts in many fields including search tactics, search management, wilderness technical rescue, patient care, the Incident Command System, and communications.
